"Australia gone batty"

Films: Like a Bat Outta Hell (2013)

Alias: Death Bat, Night Flier

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Half that of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Vampires don't just haunt European/American areas. They are indeed everywhere. As long as people fear the bat, so too do they fear the vampire (even if that was all Dracula's fault). And sure enough, there's a feral one here in Australia.

History: For centuries, the natives of Southern Australia have spoken of winged bat-like creatures known as the Olitiau, haunting the night. But in time, those became mere stories. At least, until one decided to make the ghost town of Nowhere Else into a feeding ground. Sure enough, some delicious-looking humans waltzed in hoping to be filmmakers, and instead turned out to be dinner.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After killing the majority of the people, the Olitiau is finally brought down when it's killed by a shotgun blast. While the survivor and the man part, it is shown that there are more of them out there, and they don't just have to come out at night...

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-It looks like a freakish hairless man-bat, so it has that going for it. Also, itapos;s a stealthy and violent creature. But alas, it is brought down to the ground by atrocious CGI. If you are afraid of bats, then it might give you the creeps. But for us, they could have done better.

Trivia: -As it is even mentioned in the film, the Olitiau is a cryptid from West/Central Africa, not Australia. Then again, they could have just been comparing it to that, seeing how there are many giant bat cryptids out there, such as that and the Orang-Bati, a man-bat monster from Indonesia.

-Australia does indeed have giant bats. The largest ones in the world, actually. In fact, they're sometimes called flying foxes or mega bats. But despite such intimidating titles and great size, they are in fact harmless, and are more commonly known as fruit bats for what they eat primarily. Also, they are just adorable, babies or otherwise.

Or, at least, a very small portion of the night.
The town, Nowhere, would have been a better location. Just ask Courage!
